Alan recently went along to an event at Cullercoats Harbour organised by the Tynemouth Volunteer Lifeboat Brigade, the North Sea Volunteer Lifeguards and the Royal Life Saving Society to raise awareness of drowning prevention measures.
Alan said “Across the UK there are around 400 accidental deaths each year in and around water so this campaign is an important way of raising awareness of how to be safe in the water. Let me also say thank you to Cullercoats and Tynemouth Volunteer Lifeboat Brigades and the North Sea Volunteer Lifeguards who so such a great job locally keeping us safe”
