I recently met with members of Friends of Chirton Dene to take a look around the park, hear about their achievements so far, and discuss their exciting plans for the future.
Although the Friends group has been established for less than a year, it has already built up a strong and enthusiastic membership, bringing together local residents who are passionate about protecting and improving this valuable community space.
I congratulated the group on their success in securing a prestigious Green Flag Award, a national recognition of the high standards being maintained in Chirton Dene.
The group has ambitious plans to build on this success, with ideas to encourage more community involvement, enhance the natural environment and ensure Chirton Dene remains a welcoming and well-maintained green space for local people to enjoy.
