It was an honour to attend a service and lay a wreath to mark Battle of Britain Day at the Cenotaph in Whitley Bay.
The service, organised by the British Legion and RAFA, is an important reminder of the air men who gave their lives to protect Britain in World War 2.
Now more than ever we remember the sacrifice of the generation who gave so selflessly.
