In War Graves Week it is good to see the War Graves section of Preston Cemetery looking so well cared for.
War Graves Week is the annual celebration of the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), both in the UK and around the world.
Their mission, more important than ever in light of current conflicts, is ‘to ensure that those who died in service, or as a result of conflict, are commemorated so that they, and the human cost of war, are remembered forever.
And I am pleased that Labour has pledged to renew the nation’s moral contract with those who serve and will fully incorporate the Armed Forces Covenant into law.
