Following a meeting between government representatives, North Tyneside Council and other affected local authorities the latest position is there are no travel restrictions in place in North Tyneside and no local lockdown.
I met with the Public Health Minister this morning to discuss this and have been working alongside North Tyneside Council, Mary Glindon MP and Mayor Norma Redfearn to seek urgent clarification.
People are advised however to stay as safe as possible, get vaccinated where possible and undertake regular testing to help stop the spread. For more information see the link below:
