North Tyneside Council has assured Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell that improved toilet provision will be included in regeneration plans for Whitley Bay. Earlier the local MP had taken up the concerns of Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade to upgrade facilities for residents and visitors alike. Now the Council says plans are being drawn up to improve standards and upgrade toilet provision.

Alan Campbell says, "This is an important issue for visitors and now that Government funding has been secured for regeneration I am pleased that toilets will now be made a higher priority. The Council has now made a commitment, they must deliver on that commitment."
